Why toodoozle?
Because I did not ask the AI to come up with a name, instead it was the subject of multiple user focus groups where it was decided this would put the fun into the drudgery of managing your time. Oh and also the domain was available (I wonder why?)
Getting Started
Go to settings and:
- You will need to authenticate with your google account and also be whitelisted to access the app. Though if you are reading this, then you likely know that already.
- Setup your task categories and sub-categories if required. Use these to organise your tasks into useful, filterable groups.
- Add any email addresses (other than your login address), that you would like to use to send tasks in to the app.
- Add default categories to assign these emailed tasks to.
- Make a note of the email address to use for sending.
- Don't send too many otherwise I'll have to pay.
Main task view
- Carefully review the theme's selectable from the drop down menu at the top and select the one that appropriately matches your mood. We recognise that this may change and so from time to time, feel free to change your theme.
- Make a note of the discrete view buttons in the top left of the task list. These give you different ways of viewing your tasks. Especially useful for those that use different screen sizes.
- For those busy people with many tasks, I suggest they avail themselves of the handy filter drop down. This will enable you to filter your tasks based on category or even sub-category!
- If you do not yet have any tasks, feel free to use the Add Task button. This will add a task which defaults to the currently selected filter (if applicable). Clicking on the icon that vaguely looks like a pencil, will open up a new screen letting you add more details. This can include attachments and also pasted images. Don't go crazy though because the administrators keep a close eye on the amount of storage you are using and may send you a mean note if you use too much. There is also a file size limit so do not think about using this to share pirated videos with your friends.
- You can create sub tasks using the subtask button or by dragging a normal task onto another one.
Shared Categories
Tasks in Shared Categories are visible and completable by other people that the category has been shared with. You can invite any other Toodoozlererers to join a category and share in the task completion fun!
Mobile
Save this to your mobile home screen and theoretically you should be able to use it as a mobile app, even off line. There maybe a few buggettes with this cos the gnomes have not finished testing it yet.
Privacy
Everything in the app is completely private! Unless someone looks in the completely unencrypted database or finds some of the likely bugs or threatens me with a $5 wrench.
